The Salvation Army San Bernardino Adult Rehabilitation Center

The Salvation Army offers a faith centered, nonmedical residential rehabilitation program throughout all their locations across the country. In central San Bernardino, California, you’ll find one of their residential rehabilitation centers, which offers men over the age of 18 a chance to break free from drug or alcohol addiction.

There are many aspects of their residential program that make it unique, the first of which is that they don’t charge the applicant any fees during the intake. The second is that it’s one of the largest and oldest nonmedical rehab programs with a long record of success.

The Salvation Army’s Abstinence Based Rehab

Their program takes place over a period of at least six months, but many stay for as long as a year and a half to allow their new habits and skills to take root. During this time, residents live on the rehab center’s premises and abide by a set of house rules which include a prohibition on all addictive substances and alcohol based toiletries. Their staff also helps those on prescription medication with medication management.

While you’re in the program, you’ll participate in one-on-one and group counseling sessions. Another part of the house rules and the program’s structure is that they give you a very structured daily and weekly schedule, which includes work shifts in Salvation Army stores and charity offices, as well as house chores. It’s a faith-based program with church services available for those who need spiritual guidance.
