About Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center
Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center is a mental health and addiction treatment center located in Virginia Beach and serves adults in the Hampton Roads community with comprehensive mental health and chemical dependency services.
The facility offers a full continuum of care including acute inpatient psychiatric stabilization, medically supervised detoxification, and partial hospitalization programs for both mental health and substance use disorders. With a multidisciplinary team and assessment driven approach, Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center provides integrated care for adults with co-occurring mental health and addiction challenges.
Addiction and Mental Health Programs
Treatment begins with a confidential, no cost assessment to determine the right level of care. Adults may start in medically supervised detox for safe withdrawal management, transition to inpatient dual diagnosis programs for acute psychiatric and substance use stabilization or step into structured day treatment when 24 hour care is not required.
Programming includes cognitive behavioral groups and psychoeducation, individual and family counseling, medication evaluation and management and relapse prevention planning. The chemical dependency partial hospitalization program is led by a board certified addictionologist and integrates 12 step principles, while the mental health PHP addresses anxiety and depression, bipolar disorder and PTSD, schizophrenia and trauma through structured therapeutic activities and skills training.
