About Seattle VA Medical Center
Seattle VA Medical Center, part of VA Puget Sound Health Care, provides substance use treatment for Veterans through its Addiction Treatment Center in Seattle, Washington.
The program offers detox, inpatient and outpatient care, counseling, therapy, medication and co-occurring disorders treatment for a range of substance use concerns.
With a low-barrier approach, the center welcomes Veterans seeking support even if they are not yet ready to fully stop using substances.
Veteran-Centered Addiction Care
The Addiction Treatment Center delivers comprehensive substance use care built around the unique needs of Veterans, including alcohol and opioid recovery.
Services span inpatient and outpatient detox, psychiatric care, drug and alcohol monitoring and referrals for residential treatment, all coordinated within a full-service VA medical campus.
Treatment draws on therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy alongside group and individual counseling and medication support.
Sessions address both substance use and underlying mental health concerns with care coordination connecting Veterans to the resources that support lasting recovery.
Integrated Mental Health Support
Along with providing addiction care, the medical center offers broader mental health, psychiatry, psychology and PTSD-related services for Veterans.
The program connects patients to housing, financial, chronic pain and tobacco cessation resources, recognizing that recovery often involves more than substance use alone.
