Mental Health Services For Healing
Like all veterans’ affairs clinics there are same day services available and often you do not even need to enroll in VA health care to seek help. Support is provided for clients dealing with addiction.
Counselors use evidence based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy to change negative thought patterns and promote healthy coping mechanisms. Your counselor can also help you address common conditions that occur alongside addiction, such as mood and personality disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, OCD and other more complex mental illnesses. There are same-day walk in and telehealth appointments available for crisis or emergency mental health services.
Specialized Care For Trauma
Many addictions are developed after an emotional, physical, or sexual trauma. The VA Center in Plano has programs developed to meet the specific and individual therapy needs of anyone who experienced sexual harassment or a sexual assault during their military service.
No referral is necessary for clients to receive care. You can visit the VA Clinic with or without an appointment. You may also be able to receive telehealth services so treatment can be more convenient for you. The Plano Clinic is about a half hour north of Dallas.
