About The Empowerment Center
The Empowerment Center is a Reno based nonprofit providing residential substance use treatment for women across Nevada.
Their mission is to help courageous women restore dignity and rebuild their lives while achieving long term recovery rather than short term stabilization alone.
The program supports women facing co-occurring addiction and mental health concerns including those coming from incarceration and homelessness or severe instability using trauma informed care and CBT as well as motivational interviewing.
Women's Residential With Gardening Therapy
The Empowerment Center's core offering is a signature five month residential treatment program built exclusively for women.
Daily programming includes clinical groups and relapse prevention, one-on-one appointments with therapists and social workers, and peer support within a safe communal living environment.
Treatment blends trauma-informed psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and group therapy to address the root causes of substance use.
Days also include mindfulness and art therapy, journaling, garden time, and communal dinners helping women rebuild stability and connection.
Workforce Development and Life Rebuilding
What sets this program apart is its focus on workforce development and financial literacy as core parts of recovery. Transitional living is also available for women who need structured support while rebuilding community living skills.
Through partnerships with counselors, specialty courts, and local organizations the center provides a continuum of care beyond treatment alone.
