About Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital
Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is a mental health and addiction treatment center located in cultural and artsy Reno, Nevada. The hospital is only 30 miles from beautiful Lake Tahoe. Reno Behavioral accepts insurance from most managed care companies, Medicare, Medicaid and Tribal Funds. They offer inpatient and outpatient programs for substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health issues. Programs are for youth and adults.
Comprehensive Addiction and Mental Health Care
The hospital has multiple treatment programs, from detox and inpatient treatment to intensive outpatient treatment. The counselors on staff have master’s level degrees and hold the title of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
The programs are trauma informed to identify any underlying mental health disorders contributing to substance use. Programs include education for family members to assist them in supporting their loved ones in treatment.
Adolescent Mental Health and SUD Treatment
One of the nice things about this hospital is the number of programs available for youth. The partial hospitalization program (PHP) helps teens transition from inpatient care or avoid hospitalization. The program is for clients 17 years of age and younger. The PHP is a place for teens to build skills for daily living, develop interpersonal skills and self confidence, and create healthy relationships.
The psychiatric residential treatment facility has a special program for teen girls ages 12-17 with serious mental health challenges. Some issues addressed include substance misuse, depression and suicidal ideation.
The program includes custom treatment plans with residential stays up to 90 days. Teens receive individual, group and family therapy. Additionally, clients participate in recreation, socialization and expressive therapies.
There’s a coed teen program for clients 12-17 with mental health and substance use issues. All programs address substance use and co-occurring mental health issues when appropriate. The hospital also has numerous programs and educational information for parents to support their teens in treatment.
