About Positive Resource Center

Positive Resource Center (PRC) is a San Francisco-based nonprofit offering residential addiction treatment licensed through the California Department of Health Care Services.

PRC serves adults affected by substance use, co-occurring mental health challenges, HIV/AIDS and homelessness through residential care and extensive wraparound services.

Their mission goes beyond treatment, linking recovery with housing, legal advocacy, workforce development and emergency financial support to help clients build lasting stability.

Residential Treatment Focus

PRC provides transitional residential treatment for adults living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Programs such as San Jose Place, Robertson Place and Ferguson Place provide up to 90 days of structured care, including the first residential program of its kind to address HIV/AIDS issues alongside co-occurring conditions.

Treatment follows a social rehabilitation model in small, homelike settings designed to help clients feel safe and supported.

Sessions include individual treatment planning, counseling, group work and the development of group living skills through a client-centered approach.

Wraparound Support Included

PRC integrates trauma-informed, harm-reduction approaches across its programs including Hummingbird Place, a 29-bed overnight psychiatric respite facility offering one-on-one peer support.

Beyond clinical care, PRC connects clients to housing, benefits, employment and legal resources to extend recovery well past inpatient treatment.
