About Homeless Healthcare of Los Angeles Beverly
Homeless Health Care Los Angeles Beverly Office is a nonprofit service hub providing integrated behavioral health and substance use treatment for people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. Since 1986, HHCLA has delivered compassionate care grounded in harm reduction, motivational interviewing and the Stages of Change framework.
The Beverly Office meets clients where they are combining mental health support with housing placement, supportive services and essential survival resources to help people stabilize and move toward recovery.
Harm Reduction
The Beverly Office specializes in outpatient substance use treatment for adults facing homelessness using a harm reduction philosophy that honors each person's readiness for change. Care is designed to reduce risk, build stability and support recovery goals without requiring abstinence to access services.
Sessions draw on motivational interviewing to explore ambivalence, strengthen internal motivation and set achievable next steps. Treatment addresses co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges through holistic, early intervention approaches that target underlying issues while offering practical tools for day to day survival on the street or in transitional housing.
Integrated Housing Support
Beyond traditional therapy, the Beverly Office serves as a low barrier access point for housing assessment, placement navigation and essential supports like hygiene kits. This integrated model recognizes that behavioral health care is most effective when paired with stable housing and basic needs, helping clients survive immediate crises while working toward long term wellness.
