About America’s Homeless Veterans

America’s Homeless Veterans Rehabilitation Services, or AHVets, provides holistic care for substance abuse rehabilitation along with residential support. Dedicated to each veteran’s interdisciplinary care, their staff’s approach ensures a medically supervised healing environment to rebuild lives safely.

Residential Dual Diagnosis Treatment

AHVets utilizes an evidence based approach and provides a residential treatment model. Various programs include individual therapy and group therapy, clinical intervention using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Moreover, a "whole health" integration approach goes beyond sobriety to empowering recovery through mindfulness, wellness activities and essential life skills training. Each recovery plan is customized and addresses co-occurring conditions to foster independence and community reintegration.

Veteran-First Care

What sets AHVets apart is its “veterans helping veterans” approach. This strategy is designed around employing veterans as a primary workforce, which builds strong shared purpose and military-grade camaraderie.

Beyond treatment, AHVets offers vital support for moving from homelessness to permanent housing, including comprehensive health care and mental health services. They make referrals to a comprehensive local network of community programs for continuity of care. Focus also goes to critical job readiness and case management, fostering self-sustainability for veterans.

Aftercare Support

After treatment, they offer robust alumni support through community connections and ongoing participation. These are essential to sober living and overall wellness, which underpins AHVets’ aftercare philosophy.
