About VA San Diego Healthcare System Sorrento Valley CBOC
The Sorrento Valley VA Clinic is a VA San Diego outpatient community clinic in San Diego, California and serves Veterans through primary care and mental health coordination, social work and nutritional counseling, laboratory services and women Veterans health care.
The center is not a standalone drug and alcohol rehab, but rather provides substance use help to reach Veterans through social work and transportation that closes distance across the county.
Social Work Support and Virtual Care
Social work services include substance abuse related assistance alongside crisis intervention and housing resource help, caregiver support and care coordination.
I also want to note that some social work visits may be available with or without an appointment while virtual visits are offered by appointment.
If you are looking for detox, residential care or an intensive outpatient program, the clinic can help refer you to these additional services.
VA Transportation for Clinic Access
The Sorrento Valley VA Clinic connects Veterans to free transportation service rides that cover the San Diego area.
They can reach as far south as Chula Vista and as far east as El Cajon with additional DAV transportation serving San Diego and El Centro, Oceanside and Escondido.
For Veterans without reliable transportation, this can be a key difference between getting to appointments and missing them, which is a real factor when care depends on scheduled visits during weekday hours.
The clinic serves Veterans across greater San Diego and the VA provides services that are free for eligible Veterans.
