East Wind Clubhouse

East Wind Clubhouse is a UPAC operated community mental health clubhouse in San Diego, California.

This clubhouse serves adults 18 and older living with serious mental illness, including those with co occurring substance use conditions, while providing group counseling, peer support, case management and linkage to medical and psychiatric services.

Team members and clinicians built a member participation based program for the local Asian and Pacific Islander community with culturally sensitive care.

Work Ordered Day at East Wind Clubhouse

East Wind Clubhouse operates on a member driven model aligned with Clubhouse International standards.

Through the Work Ordered Day, members work with staff to help run the clubhouse, identifying interests and building independent functioning skills in the process.

Days at East Wind blend social connection with concrete employment development, education and life skills work covering housing, health and relationships.

This structure fits adults in San Diego seeking sustained community and rehabilitation.

It is not designed as a detox or higher-intensity substance use program.

Culturally Responsive Mental Health Support

East Wind Clubhouse specializes in serving Asian/Pacific Islander community members, including monolingual and limited-English-proficient adults.

The UPAC's multilingual, multicultural staff identifies a specific focus on Southeast Asian refugees and immigrants.
