About The Magdalen House
The Magdalen House is located in Dallas, Texas, and has been helping women battle substance abuse mental health disorders since 1987. The facility offers a first step residential program which is normally two weeks long and a non-residential program that runs 12 weeks and uses the 12 Step recovery model. They have a men’s program at another site.
The facility is funded mainly by grants, donations and community support, which is how they’re able to provide all services completely free of charge to any individual.
Programs and Recovery in Dallas
The Magdalen House has a wide range of programs to meet individuals at each stage of their recovery. First Step consists of two weeks of residential programming that includes recovery classes and support from previous clients. This helps build a bond and community with peers that have struggled with similar situations and establishes a good foundation. All meals are provided.
Next Step is their specialized program where individuals can join therapy and counseling sessions for 12 weeks. They focus on their unique needs regarding their addiction.
Facility and Amenities for All Residents
The facility is 8,000 square feet and includes plenty of amenities including a visitation room, various bedrooms, a large dining table able to fit all residents for group dinners.
For recreational group activities they offer a multi-purpose room where meetings and workshops are held. Due to the location of the facility, public transportation is easily accessible.
