About Set Free Alaska
Set Free Alaska is a nonprofit substance abuse treatment center with several locations across Alaska. This organization provides a variety of programs based on Christian principles and a holistic approach of mind, body and spirit treatment. At this location in Palmer, Alaska, you’ll find their Recovery Residence Program on the Christopher Walden House of Hope property. This program is called Heritage House and is a sober living community.
For people who have lived at Heritage House, there are mixed reviews of their time there. Some struggled with the strict rules that are in place for residents; however, others say they appreciate the opportunity to live in a healthy sober living facility.
A Majestic Location Overlooking Nature
This location is set overlooking the Matanuska and Knik River Valleys, Pioneer Peak and the Knik Glacier. This property was formerly a bed and breakfast but is now a sober recovery home, peer support program and crisis stabilization program. You can receive outpatient substance abuse treatment and intensive case management services while living here. The Heritage House also has daily recovery meetings and will help you with workforce development.

In association with Christopher Walden House, Heritage House aims to save lives one day at a time by providing local affordable recovery homes. This is stable long-term housing that will allow you to build a sober community and connect with others in recovery. While living on site, you’ll engage in trauma informed treatment and therapy groups. The goal of this recovery home is to reduce recidivism and give individuals a long-term solution for establishing recovery.
