About Indian Health Center
Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley is a community health organization in San Jose providing counseling and behavioral health services including substance use treatment, to American Indian and Alaskan Native communities and the greater public.
Its behavioral health team offers individual therapy and group treatment, family and children's therapy, psychiatric services, medication management and case management for substance use and co-occurring conditions.
Rooted in a holistic and culturally responsive mission, the organization blends evidence based clinical care with traditional healing to support whole person wellness.
Culturally Grounded SUD Treatment
The Adult Behavioral Health Program offers outpatient substance use treatment alongside initial assessment and individual therapy, psychiatric services and case management.
The substance use track is designed for mild to moderate needs through short term, coordinated care delivered at the Counseling and Behavioral Health Center.
Treatment pairs clinical support with culturally specific approaches and traditional services are available on request. Patients have praised the kind and professional staff, timely appointments and accessible care for those with limited or no insurance.
Native Wellness and Prevention
Beyond clinical treatment, the center delivers culturally specific prevention and wellness initiatives like Native Connections, Traditional Path to Wellness and Red Vision substance abuse prevention for Native American and Alaskan Native youth ages 12 to 24.
These programs emphasize community healing, family support and cultural connection across California's urban Native communities.
