About For a New Start
Located near the center of Miami, Florida’s Little Havana neighborhood, For a New Start provides a full continuum of dual diagnosis care to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
They offer assistance with insurance verification and preauthorization to help you navigate any benefit questions. Staff is multicultural and multilingual, and services are available in Spanish.
Evidence Based and Holistic Treatments
With an emphasis on community support and peer connections, they treat adults 18 and older through their inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient programs. Medically supervised detox is available to aid with withdrawal symptoms. Their individual, group, and family counseling focuses on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with the addition of holistic treatments such as yoga, meditation, fitness, and nutritional guidance.
They’re dedicated to “empowering clients to take control of their lives and achieve lasting change,” offering long term recovery strategies and life skills development, as well as aftercare services and an alumni support network.
I appreciate that the facility is also LGBTQ+ inclusive, addressing the unique needs of this community.
Compassionate, Professional, and Caring Staff
I found positive reviews from former clients, with many praising the caring staff. They cite effective support both during and after detox. Several highlight the individualized attention and supportive peer environment.
