About Drug Alternative Program
Drug Alternative Program is a faith-based treatment center in Huntsville, Alabama offering residential recovery and transition homes for men seeking freedom from substance use disorders. The program serves men ages 18 to 64 through a structured, Christian model that includes 24/7 supervision, individual and group counseling and work therapy. The approach focuses on healing the whole person by addressing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of recovery.
Residential Recovery
Men enter one of three fully furnished residential recovery homes where treatment begins with a free assessment and a structured daily schedule that includes counseling, spiritual devotions and work therapy. The inpatient phase provides a substance-free living environment with shared accommodations, group and individual therapy and weekly church attendance as part of the recovery foundation.
The community atmosphere includes time with others in recovery who understand your unique challenges and background.
Treatment Focus and Transitions
Clients can expect relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, trauma-related counseling and anger management, alongside peer mentoring and employment training. Graduates may transition to on-site housing for up to two years where they continue building independence while contributing a portion of their income to support their stay.
Treatment may involve addressing the root causes of substance use and helping clients develop healthier habits and routines to support sustained sobriety.
