About Douglas Young Wellness Recovery Center
Douglas Young Wellness Recovery Center is a Community Research Foundation program offering adult outpatient behavioral health services in San Diego's Mira Mesa neighborhood.
The center serves adults ages 18 and older living with serious mental illness including those facing co-occurring substance use conditions.
Through community-based, strength-based and trauma-informed care, the program is designed to help adults build lasting recovery and reclaim their lives.
Integrated Care Model
The center's core focus is supporting adults managing serious mental illness alongside substance use challenges.
Services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, individual counseling, and group work all delivered through a recovery-oriented, culturally competent approach.
Treatment draws on methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, psychoeducation and relapse prevention counseling.
Sessions address both underlying issues and daily symptoms, and recovery planning encourages participation from family and significant others to strengthen long-term support.
Whole-Person Support
Beyond therapy and psychiatry Douglas Young Wellness Recovery Center offers peer support, case management, crisis intervention and mobile outreach.
The program also provides practical help through education assistance and employment services supporting recovery across every part of life.
