About Bayview Recovery
Bayview Recovery Center in Tacoma, Washington, offered outpatient and inpatient treatment services for alcohol and drug addictions. They were accredited by The Joint Commission. While this location is now closed, other facilities in the area may offer similar addiction treatment services.
Multi-Tiered Outpatient Services
Their partial hospitalization program was offered for rigorous outpatient treatment. An intensive outpatient program was offered for severe addiction not requiring medical attention. Their general outpatient program was available for those not in a heavy addiction status.
Gender-Specific Inpatient Services
Inpatient rehabilitation services were divided by men, women and adolescents. This meant a client in rehab could relate more to addiction issues and everyday life when conversing with a peer.
Women’s inpatient services treated common reasons for addiction including mental health disorders, unresolved trauma, codependent relationships, loneliness and low self esteem. Women-specific services that were offered included gynecological care, childcare support, parenting classes and domestic violence resources.
Men’s inpatient services addressed issues experienced by men such as the expectations of masculinity leading to men avoiding treatment that may be seen as weakness or a failure. Men may be less likely to seek treatment because of the need to sustain a job and income.
Adolescent Treatment Services
Teen and young adult addiction could be related to a genetic factor, peer pressure, lack of knowledge, early exposure or environmental issues. Young adults could be treated at all levels of Bayview’s treatment options.
Sober Living Program
A sober living program provided a structured living environment for clients who had successfully completed treatment, so they could get back on their feet before integrating into society. Services included stress and anxiety management coaching and relapse prevention training.
