About Volunteers of America Los Angeles

Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is a faith-based organization in the Wilshire/Koreatown area of Los Angeles, offering recovery services for adults facing substance use challenges.

Through its network, VOALA provides outpatient, residential and transitional sober living options alongside co-occurring disorder support, case management and re-entry assistance.

The organization serves Angelenos with a mission rooted in helping people impacted by addiction, homelessness and justice involvement rebuild stable lives.

Community-Based Addiction Treatment

VOALA's specialty is community-based addiction recovery delivered through Southern California Drug and Alcohol Programs.

Services include assessments, counseling, treatment planning, education, random drug screening, aftercare and referrals for mental health, medical and medication needs.

Treatment incorporates trauma-informed approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.

Clients work with counselors to address the root causes of substance use while building practical recovery skills with court-ordered and DUI/SUD diversion pathways available for those who qualify.

Recovery and Wraparound Support

A defining feature of VOALA is the integration of addiction treatment with housing, shelter, veterans' services and re-entry support.

This wraparound model is designed to serve men and women experiencing homelessness, justice involvement or other systemic barriers, with bilingual and monolingual Spanish services available in select programs.

The organization accepts Medi-Cal and self-pay, and qualifying clients may receive services at no cost through Drug Medi-Cal and My Health LA, with enrollment assistance available.
