Levels of care#

Inpatient / residential

When recovery feels lonely, living alongside peers can change the tone of each day. In inpatient care, the people nearby are working toward the same kind of change.

Partial hospitalization (PHP)

Partial hospitalization fills daytime hours with therapy, groups, and clinical check-ins. The schedule runs most of the day before people head home for the evening.

Outpatient

People looking for individual counseling, group therapy, and relapse-prevention skills often find them in outpatient sessions.

Aftercare support

When a program ends, continuing care can take the form of outpatient sessions, peer groups, alumni contact where offered, or sober living referrals. Many people use several of these at once.

Co-occurring disorders

Treatment for co-occurring disorders puts both conditions in one plan instead of handling them one after the other.

Sober living

People in Maryland who want steady company while staying sober often find it in a shared recovery home. Living with peers brings daily encouragement and gentle accountability from people who understand the path.
