About The House of Extra Measures 23rd Street MAT House for Men

The House of Extra Measures 23rd Street is a certified men's recovery residence in Houston Heights, specializing in structured sober living for adults in medication supported opioid recovery.

The home supports residents enrolled in Medication for Opioid Use Disorder programs using Suboxone, Methadone, Vivitrol or Naltrexone paired with peer accountability and 12 step engagement.

The mission is to bridge the gap between inpatient treatment and independent living through community, structure and recovery focused daily routines.

Supported Sober Living for Men

This 23rd Street house is one of the few Houston recovery residences purpose built for men using medication for opioid use disorder.

The 3,850 square foot home offers 14 beds, an on site manager and resident advisor, and participation in the Project HOMES research initiative with UTHealth School of Public Health.

Daily life is highly structured with morning meditation and IOP participation, work or volunteering, recovery meetings, resident prepared dinners and evening wrap ups.

Random drug testing, goals coaching and weekly house meetings help residents rebuild stability, and testimonials credit the program with restoring employment, family ties and long term sobriety.

Life Skills and Recovery Coaching

Beyond housing, residents receive mentoring, communication and life skills training, health promotion and access to recovery resources.

The combination of coaching and accountability helps men translate clinical treatment into sustainable, independent living.
