About The Council on Recovery
The Council on Recovery is a nonprofit that helps adults with prevention, education, and treatment for alcoholism or substance misuse. You'll find one of their sites in metropolitan Houston, Texas. It’s close to Cleveland Park and Granger Stadium.
Signing Up for Outpatient Care
Their outpatient program consists of therapeutic counseling options. This gives options to work on yourself privately or connect with the closest people around you to grow together as a unit.
You can also partake in yoga and meditation to clear your mind. Bring your own mat and you can join in an evening session to unwind after a busy day.
Family Fun Programs
They’ve programs for children and adolescents who are impacted by substance misuse, whether they're struggling themselves or have family members who are dealing with addiction. One of my favorite programs is the Center for Recovering Families, which offers therapy, education, and group support.
They also have community outreach and prevention programs, as well as school outreach. They even have corporate and workplace training. Council luncheons give you a chance to connect with their staff and guest speakers. Their Addicted to Comedy program is really cool and involves stand-up comics who deliver free family-friendly gags and jokes to lighten up your mood.
