About Teen and Family Services South Houston
Teen and Family Services (TAFS) South Houston is a nonprofit outpatient program providing adolescent substance use and behavioral health treatment for teens ages 13 to 18 and their families.
The program offers cognitive behavioral therapy and counseling as well as intervention services and co-occurring disorders support. TAFS believes recovery thrives when teens and parents heal together building the skills, sober connections, and confidence needed for lasting change.
Teen Addiction and High Risk Behavior Treatment
TAFS South Houston specializes in outpatient addiction treatment designed specifically for adolescents navigating substance use and high risk behaviors.
The team brings a teen focused clinical lens that few general outpatient providers offer with a track record of 87 percent of graduates engaged in long term recovery.
Sessions blend cognitive behavioral therapy with substance abuse counseling, group work, and drug prevention education in a private and welcoming setting.
Treatment targets the patterns behind risky behavior while equipping teens with practical coping tools, life skills, and academic support to carry into daily life.
Family-Centered and Peer-Based Recovery
Beyond the counseling room TAFS builds a prosocial recovery community through parent group meetings and family counseling, art activities, a recreation room, and supervised after school and weekend social events.
This peer based model helps teens form sober friendships while parents gain tools to support their child’s recovery at home.
