About Step 1 Recovery
Step 1 Recovery in lively Reno, Nevada is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting men who experience substance use disorders. With a focus on men who are lower income, this compassionate treatment center teaches skills for reentering society from incarceration or treatment facilities.
We like Step 1 because of all the ways they offer a supportive environment for clients to rebuild their lives. Their holistic approach includes intuitive services that are all designed to help you build a foundation for a brighter future.
Transitional Housing for Men in Reno
Step 1 offers transitional housing to men in the Northern Nevada area who are of low or zero income. If you’ve lost your housing due to substance dependency along with illegal activities, this may be a good option for you. All you need to do is to want positive change and they will provide you with the tools needed to get there.
If you’ve just been released from incarceration, this is also okay. Step 1 is available to help.
A Community Focused Model
The care teams of Step 1 place a high value on community. Because of this, they use peer support as a means to help men via their outpatient counseling services. We find this helpful because through fellowship with others who’ve walked paths similar to yours, you can find inspiration and practical strategies on how to meet your recovery goals.
Another thing that we love about this is that their counseling services don’t just target addiction. They teach you specifically how to become independent.
Compassionate Payment Avenues
If you’re unable to pay for services, you will not be denied based on that. You can use SAPTA/BHPT (Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency/Behavioral Health and Prevention Treatment) funds for expenses related to transitional living. If you have a savings account, you can be provided with sliding fee scales so you only pay what you can afford. Medicaid can help pay for your outpatient programs.
