About Spero Health | Indianapolis
Spero Health is an outpatient addiction treatment center on the northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana.
The clinic has medication assisted treatment with Suboxone, Subutex and Vivitrol. You’ll also have counseling, physician visits and recovery support services.
Walk in With No Appointments
The Spero Health clinic offers walk in access for people who are ready to start treatment so you don’t need an appointment first.
For someone in withdrawal or in the early hours of their decision to seek help, that removes the gap between getting motivated and reaching your scheduled intake appointment.
Clients come one to three times per week for the first 90 days to get counseling, recovery support services and physician visits in one setting. Your schedule might change after that but it depends on your progress.
The clinic also has telehealth for eligible patients across Indianapolis and surrounding Central Indiana communities.
President of the Indiana Society
The lead physician at Spero Health's Indianapolis clinic is Dr. Darrin Mangicarne. He’s also the Central Indiana Spero Health Medical Director and current President of the Indiana Society of Addiction Medicine.
The person overseeing medication management also holds a statewide leadership role in addiction medicine. To me, this is reassuring and it’s an uncommon level of clinical oversight for a community outpatient clinic.
Spero Health also has support for housing, employment and recovery community connections. They treat stability outside the clinic as part of recovery itself.
Spero Health accepts Indiana Medicaid, Medicare, military insurance, most commercial plans and self pay.

- Substance abuse
Levels of care
- Detox
- Detox treatment keeps watch over withdrawal symptoms from start to finish. Changes in how a person feels are noticed early and met with the right kind of support.
- Inpatient / residential
- The day runs on a set schedule while a person lives on site, with planned times for groups, therapy and rest.
- Outpatient
- Between sessions, people try out new coping skills in real settings like home, work, and social plans. That practice turns ideas from counseling into habits.
