About Shields for Families: Revelation Program
SHIELDS Revelation dual diagnosis program is offered by SHIELDS for Families which is a community based nonprofit in Los Angeles, California offering outpatient substance use disorder treatment as part of a wraparound network of family centered services in South Los Angeles.
SHIELDS takes a culturally sensitive and family focused approach designed to meet the needs of high risk families.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment for Youth
Treatment typically begins with an intake and psychosocial assessment. SHIELDS offers outpatient and intensive outpatient services through Revelation, a dual diagnosis program for adolescents ages 12 to 20. The program addresses substance use and co-occurring mental health issues.
Youth can expect counseling along with drug and alcohol education and life skills classes, urinalysis testing, and comprehensive case management.
Co-occurring mental health disorders are addressed alongside substance use, and services are available in English and Spanish. SHIELDS also offers the Genesis program which serves parenting women with children.
