About Roger Williams Medical Center Addiction Medicine Treatment
Roger Williams Medical Center Addiction Medicine Treatment is a hospital based program in Providence, Rhode Island offering medically supervised detox and comprehensive outpatient addiction services for adults. The program provides a full continuum of care including a Level IV detox unit, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient, individual counseling and medication assisted treatment with Suboxone.
As the only general hospital in Rhode Island with a Level IV detox program, Roger Williams Medical Center delivers withdrawal management alongside treatment for co-occurring medical and mental health conditions in a fully integrated setting.
Medically Supervised Detox
The program's 15 bed detox unit provides daily medical oversight and therapy for adults withdrawing from alcohol and drugs, with specialized capability to manage co-occurring medical complications. Being embedded in a general hospital means patients have access to comprehensive medical services during the most vulnerable phase of early recovery.
Treatment plans are individualized and include 24 hour nursing care, physician supervision and therapeutic support to ensure a safe and comfortable withdrawal. The hospital setting allows clinicians to address underlying health issues, stabilize patients with dual diagnoses and create a bridge to longer term recovery supports.
Integrated Outpatient Services
Following detox, patients can step down into the program's Addiction Services Center on the same campus, which offers partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ongoing individual counseling. MAT using Suboxone is available to support sustained recovery, combined with group therapy, case management and early recovery support groups.
