Pathfinders Recovery Center

Pathfinders Recovery Center was a residential drug and alcohol rehab in Lakewood, Colorado and part of a two state provider with a second campus in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Colorado program offered medically supervised detox and residential care, partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs, outpatient services and aftercare with evidence based counseling, dual diagnosis treatment as well as private insurance and self pay acceptance.

EMDR and Neurofeedback

Beyond the standard cognitive behavioral therapy, group and individual therapy found at most facilities, Pathfinders in Lakewood had eye movement therapy, neurofeedback and strengths based and solution focused therapy, along with trauma therapy and couples and family counseling.

The program also explicitly people who had experienced sexual abuse, intimate partner violence or other trauma as well as those with co-occurring pain and substance use disorders.

EMDR and neurofeedback are not advertised at most standard rehabs, so having them available signaled clinical care that was built around trauma processing rather than cognitive behavioral therapy alone.

Gender Specific Treatment Across Colorado and Arizona

Pathfinders ran a unique program. The Lakewood facility was co-ed, while the Scottsdale campus was only for men.

This gave admissions staff the ability to place clients in the environment that fit them, including out of state placement for men who wanted a single gender setting, with the organization marketing itself to clients coming from any state.

The Colorado site leaned into its setting outside Denver, with mountain and water recreation nearby and home like accommodations with onsite fitness facilities.

Payment options historically included Medicaid and ITU funds, private insurance and self pay at the Colorado program.
