Odyssey House of Utah is a behavioral health organization providing residential and outpatient services to adults in the Salt Lake City region. This location of Odyssey has outpatient addiction treatment and harm reduction services. Located within blocks are other treatment programs like residential care, housing support, and mental health care.
Odyssey’s harm reduction services provide supplies to help you stay safe, prevent disease, and decrease the chance of overdose. They can detox you for opioids, but prefer that you’ve already gone through withdrawal before signing up.
Medical And Harm Reduction Support For Drug Users
Odyssey’s harm reduction program provides free public health supplies and education to keep the community safe. Kits are given out at the facility that include clean syringes, abscess and wound care supplies, condoms and lubricants, narcan, and fentanyl test strips.
You can visit the facility and obtain any of these supplies Monday through Friday. You don’t need to be enrolled as an Odyssey client to use these services. For the syringe exchange part of the program, there’s a limit of 200 syringes per day.
Recovery-Focused Medical Care
This clinic also offers recovery support services, medication assisted treatment (MAT), mental health care, and preventative care. They can screen you and treat you for mental health disorders and help manage all of your medications. Odyssey also provides vivitrol injections to help with drug cravings in recovery. One unique part about this clinic is that they specialized in treating hepatitis C and STD testing.
This facility serves people aged 14 and older. They engage in care coordination to ensure you’re connected to all community resources you need.
