The Montrose Center

The Montrose Center is a Houston based LGBTQIA+ community center and behavioral health provider offering substance use recovery services alongside counseling, case management and HIV related care.

Its addiction programs combine licensed outpatient therapy, peer recovery coaching and psychiatric consultation to support teens and adults navigating substance use, trauma and co-occurring mental health conditions.

The center is built around affirming care, creating a safe space where sexual orientation, gender identity and HIV status are met with understanding rather than stigma.

LGBTQ+ Affirming Addiction Recovery

Through its long running WAY OUT Recovery program, with over 30 years of experience treating substance use, The Montrose Center offers an intensive outpatient program and supportive outpatient program.

Both run roughly eight weeks and include weekly individual therapy alongside group sessions led by licensed master level therapists.

Sessions focus on coping skills, mindfulness and distress tolerance, cognitive restructuring and relapse prevention, while also addressing co-occurring mental health concerns and sexual health.

Clients consistently appreciate the dedicated staff, breadth of services and strong community connection.

Whole Person Support

Beyond clinical care, the center provides free recovery coaching and case management, tobacco cessation support and substance use evaluations.

On site primary care linkage through Legacy Community Health and referrals for detox and MAT, residential and partial hospitalization round out a holistic recovery model.

Located at 401 Branard Street in Houston's Montrose neighborhood, the center serves the greater Houston area with both in person and telehealth options.

The Montrose Center accepts all insurance including Medicare and Medicaid, and offers sliding scale fees and financial assistance so clients are never turned away for inability to pay.
