About Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers Outpatient Tacoma
The Tacoma, Washington outpatient clinic of Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers (LMRC) offered substance use treatment for all ages. This location is now closed, but they previously offered regular outpatient services and intensive outpatient programming (IOP). Treatment included cognitive behavior therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention, substance abuse counseling, and used the 12 step approach to recovery.
LMRC is accredited by CARF and ASAM. They accept several major insurance coverages including BCBS and Cigna. All locations offer free drug and alcohol evaluations. There are several clinics that are open and able to provide outpatient services.

Medication assisted treatment is offered here to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings. The center provides intensive outpatient programs and continuing care. You can benefit from individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, life skills workshops, and aftercare planning. A long term care plan after treatment completion will prevent relapses and encourage attendance at peer support groups such as Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous.
Services for People Involved in the Criminal Justice System
Outpatient services are offered to Washington offenders who are required to complete a treatment or education program. Disease Information School educates clients and their families about addiction as a disease and the impact it makes on the client’s physical health, psychological health, and relationships with other people. Meanwhile, Family Disease Education educates families about addiction with workshops, group therapy, and family support groups.

Inpatient Treatment at Kirkland
Those requiring more intensive treatment may be referred to the Kirkland intensive inpatient program. Medicated assisted detoxification is available here for clients who need to safely withdraw from substances being used.
