About Healthy Connections

Healthy Connections in Miami, Florida, offers services for children, youth and adults. They are certified by The Joint Commission, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Silent Victims of Crime, Easterseals of South Florida and AHCA.

Outpatient counseling is available for all ages. This is individualized, age-appropriate counseling that involves family members for a collaborative approach.

Parent Coaching and Enrichment Sessions

As parents, our substance use can have a negative effect on our children. The center offers parent/child coaching that will teach us how to communicate with our children, improve our parenting skills, and understand the development of our children.

Parent enrichment sessions allow us to have discussions with other parents and find solutions using peer support. School based therapy sessions can be conducted at your child’s school during school hours which will limit time missed at school and is helpful if the child’s mental health is affecting their school work and behavior.

Therapies Your Child Will Receive

Cognitive behavioral therapy will help your child replace negative thoughts and behaviors with positive ones. Your child will discover and strengthen their positive emotions, strengths of character, and well-being with positive psychology.

Through mindfulness therapy your child will learn to be accepting of themselves and their environment, while kindness therapy teaches your child to be accepting of others. Empowerment and resilience therapy will give your child the tools to bounce back from adversity and take control of their life and choices.

Referral for Substance Use Treatment

Although the center does not directly offer substance use treatment, they can make a referral to a local treatment facility for you. The center specializes in healing any family dynamics that may be experiencing challenges.
