About Crossroads Foundation
Crossroads Foundation in San Diego, California was started way back in 1957 by a group of professional women who saw a glaring need for specialized gender-specific care for females struggling with addiction. Now, it’s the oldest women's residential recovery facility in all of San Diego County.
This place isn't about quick fixes. They promote a deep, sustained journey with most women staying in the facility about six months.
SoCal Soul Support
What really makes Crossroads unique is its incredibly down-to-earth, whole-person approach.
To help women build practical skills, the facility has an on-site computer lab with seven workstations. They also don't just require residents to stay inside the grounds of the facility. Instead, they actively encourage their clients to get out, volunteer, and really connect with the local community. It makes a massive difference in helping patients rediscover purpose and a true sense of belonging.
Lasting Change for Everyone
Crossroads genuinely welcomes women who are members of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. They also support clients who are dealing with co-occurring mental health challenges, past trauma from domestic violence, sexual abuse, or even HIV/AIDS. They also extend their reach to military families.
Here, they know that true recovery isn’t just about getting sober; it's about rebuilding an entire life. They' have a solid aftercare program and robust alumni groups, ensuring ongoing support. The upcoming "Maria's House" for transitional housing just further proves their dedication to long-term success and their goal to help women truly flourish after their stay.
