About Black Alcohol Drug Services Info
Basic Inc. stood for the Black Alcohol/Drug Service Information Center. It’s temporarily closed now, but it was located in St. Louis, Missouri and offered services to reduce the harmful consequences of substance use and dependency in Black communities.
They provided culturally sensitive chemical dependency treatment services, tailored to address the needs, demands, and problems of substance use within urban communities. They included counseling which uses proven therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, to help clients change their attitudes towards substance use and develop healthy coping strategies.
