About Berkeley Addiction Treatment Services
Berkeley Addiction Treatment Services (BATS) is a methadone clinic. To be accepted as a client, you must have a history of opiate use disorder and failed attempts at treatment. They accept adults, seniors, pregnant women, and LGBTQ individuals. You'll find them in Berkeley, California.
The clinic is certified by The Joint Commission and the National Committee for Quality Assurance and is certified by SAMHSA. They accept Medicaid, federal or government funding for substance use treatment programs, and self payment.
Screening and Counseling for Substance Use
You’ll be screened for psychosocial and medical issues. The clinic uses methadone as treatment for withdrawals or maintenance therapy. You’ll receive individualized counseling in addition to medication.
Counseling sessions cover topics such as substance use, trauma, anger management, relapse prevention and the 12 steps. Additionally, the clinic provides comprehensive medical screening and will teach you about relapse prevention. Sessions are available in Spanish if you’d like.
BATS will screen you for infectious diseases and educate you about prevention. If you need help with legalities, housing, or other social services, the clinic can help you. You can smoke in designated areas.
