About Bay Pines VA Healthcare System CW Bill Young Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is a Veterans Affairs campus providing addiction and mental health treatment in Bay Pines, Florida.
The system serves Veterans, their families and caregivers with outpatient, inpatient, residential and detox-level care for substance use, PTSD and severe mental illness.
Here, addiction recovery is fully integrated with hospital, psychiatry and social support services tailored to each Veteran's needs.
Veteran Substance Use Treatment
Bay Pines offers a full continuum of addiction care from a new Medical Detox Unit for alcohol withdrawal to residential and outpatient programming.
The detox unit is supported by hospitalists, acute nursing, psychiatry and an embedded therapist available seven days a week.
Treatment blends counseling, group work, medication management, peer support and psychiatric evaluation, with individualized planning for every Veteran.
The program emphasizes wrap-around services that connect Veterans directly from detox into longer-term residential or outpatient care.
Residential Recovery and Reintegration
The Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program supports Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness pairing mental health rehabilitation with community living.
Recovery goals extend into vocational rehabilitation through Compensated Work Therapy using the Individual Placement and Support model, plus homeless services and care coordination.
