About Angel Hope House
Located east of Newark, in a wooded, suburban residential community, is the Angel Hope House of Newark, New Jersey. This is a halfway house for women in recovery from a substance use disorder or a co-occurring mental health disorder. You'll live in a well maintained residential facility that's safe and supportive as you build the skills you need to transition back into independent living.
Healing Through Community Building
There's a strong sense of community here, and you'll feel that right away if you are accepted into the recovery program. The recovery environment is incredibly nurturing, helping you feel at ease as you work through the next steps of your addiction recovery journey.
You can expect to go out on regular recreational activities with the other women in the house. There are also supervised weekend activities around town, and you’ll visit popular destinations in the area like the movies and bowling.
These give you the opportunity to experience the different ways you can have fun while still being sober. Plus, you get to practice applying the recovery skills you're learning in counseling out in the real world.
Focus on Long Term Recovery
Women typically live here from a couple of months up to one year. This gives you the opportunity to live in a fully supportive and sober environment so that you can focus on building the skills for long-term success. This is done through counseling and peer support, where you'll learn those necessary, tangible skills.
Positive Client Experiences
Many women who've lived here say they really appreciate how supportive and kind the staff has been toward them. They say they love how they were connected to resources that would further support them and how they felt valued because there was a strong sense of community and relationship building here.
