Alternative Counseling is a certified and licensed addiction treatment and behavioral health provider serving adults in Kent, Washington.

Flexible Outpatient Addiction Treatment
At the core of Alternative Counseling's work is flexible outpatient care, including standard outpatient treatment and intensive outpatient programming (IOP).
Services include individual and group counseling, alcohol and drug evaluations and relapse prevention support, with program lengths guided by ASAM criteria.
Treatment draws on approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Moral Reconation Therapy to address the patterns behind substance use.
Sessions are individualized and flexible, helping clients build practical skills for lasting recovery.
Court Related and Multilingual Services
Alternative Counseling pairs addiction care with court-facing services, including DUI-related evaluations, deferred prosecution, collateral evaluations and Alcohol/Drug Information School (ADIS).
The center also offers anger management assessments and classes, plus services in English, Russian and Ukrainian, including Russian language virtual ADIS.
Alternative Counseling provides in-person and telehealth services, while working with BCBS plans, the First Choice Health network and offers private pay, sliding-scale eligibility and flexible payment schedules.
