About White Deer Run of Lehigh
White Deer Run of Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is an inpatient rehab center for adult men and women suffering from substance use disorder or co-occurring mental health disorders.
The facility goal is that patients come back as a speaker and peer coach instead of a patient. They treat addictions to alcohol, cocaine, heroin and inhalants along with marijuana, meth, opioids, prescription drugs, stimulants and synthetic marijuana.
Detox Simplified in Privacy with Medication
This facility offers a medically monitored detox program which allows clients to go through the withdrawal process with reduced symptoms. You’ll be in a special detox area separate from patients who have already detoxed.
Patients will participate in 12 step meetings, coping strategies programs and learning about the disease concept of addiction. You’ll also be learning living skills and learning self-care. Group sessions are available for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and anger management.
Holistic Therapies with Proven Positive Outcomes
Experiential therapies for drug and alcohol addiction treatment are used at this facility too. These therapies give clients an outlet to turn to when temptation becomes overwhelming.
Art therapy serves as an outlet for creative expressions and provides a break from talk therapy. Music therapy does too and it can be used as a healing tool to relax, recharge, and express oneself.
Being surrounded by nature on walks is the perfect place to reflect and introspect both of which are key components to heal from addiction. The ropes course allows clients to learn how to work together as part of a team and recognize one’s strengths.
Relaxation and personal reflection is achieved through aromatherapy and meditation. They also have guided imagery which is focusing on mental images that promote feelings of relaxation. You can enjoy tai chi and yoga as well.
Clients have reported that the staff is not judgmental and that they see teamwork including the director being involved in patient care. Others state the counseling and community care they received here pulled them out of a hopeless existence.
After successful recovery and discharge, a client may want to dine at the NYC Village Pizza or The Flying V Canadian Restaurant. A client could continue meditation and relaxation at Bethlehem River Tours or Sand Island Park, both located along the Lehigh River.
