The Turquoise Lodge Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico is a state hospital that accepts many insurance coverages. Clients will not be refused because of their inability to pay. A sliding fee scale is offered based on family income.
The hospital is certified by The Joint Commission and offers substance abuse treatment services to adult residents of New Mexico. Pregnant women, clients who use drugs intravenously, women with dependent children, and parents seeking to regain custody of their children are prioritized.
First Step Toward Sobriety with an Assessment
New Mexico residents who need substance use treatment should contact the hospital to request services. A telephone assessment will be conducted within one to three business days. The hospital will call the resident for the assessment. Family and friends can be involved in the conversation as long as the potential client is on the phone call as well.
Treatments and Services for Substance Use Disorder
Medical detox is offered with 24 hour nursing care. Detox lasts five to 10 days. After you have completed detox treatment, you will transition to inpatient care or Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP).
Medications are prescribed for clients suffering from withdrawals in detox. Medications may also be prescribed for patients diagnosed as having substance use with co-occurring mental health disorders.
Social rehabilitation services is an inpatient program that lasts 25 to 30 days. Family and friends are not permitted to visit residents but can call and check on a client if the client has signed a release.
The rooms are similar to what you would expect to see at a hospital. Clients can choose their meals from a menu. The facility and grounds are tobacco free.
Dedicated Intensive Outpatient Program
IOP is a step down from inpatient services and still offers a structured program. Clients attend IOP for three to six months. After treatment completion you will be referred to community recovery programs. Clients receive continued support in their sobriety by a community of peers.
