Townsend Recovery is a hospital-based addiction treatment center serving the greater New Orleans, Louisiana area. Located on the fifth floor of New Orleans East Hospital, this new facility accommodates up to 36 adults at a time for detox and residential substance use treatment. Programming generally lasts between 30 and 90 days.

Townsend Recovery offers all of the amenities of a big hospital system without a sterile environment. With a dual diagnosis approach, you’ll meet with a psychiatrist to address any underlying mental health issues. While in treatment, you can expect to engage in group and individual counseling, immersive 12 step programming, and yoga and outdoor activities. Professional clinicians will guide you through cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. This facility also offers gourmet catered meals.
Compassionate Counseling In A Safe Recovery Environment
As a patient at Townsend, you’ll be treated with encouragement and respect while receiving compassionate counseling. Medical detox focuses on withdrawal management while keeping you in a safe and comfortable environment. Medications like Subutex and Vivitrol may be used to help solidify your sobriety going forward.
The case management team at Townsend will help you navigate legal, family, or FMLA complications that you might run into. At the end of treatment you’ll have the option to enroll in a chronic disease management plan that will provide you with ongoing supportive care.
