The Last Resort

The Last Resort is a men’s-only addiction treatment center in Smithville, Texas, set on a 55-acre horse ranch outside Austin. Medical detox and residential treatment both happen on the property, and the center serves adult men dealing with alcohol, opioids and other drugs.

It’s set up for men who have already been through treatment at least once, whether that was a second attempt or a seventh.

Onsite Detox and Residential Care

Medical detox runs under supervision, with staff watching around the clock, and it brings in medication-assisted treatment, meaning medication for withdrawal and cravings, when that’s needed. Those first days can be rough enough that a lot of people need medical help to get through them, and the team is on site for exactly that stretch.

Residential treatment continues at The Last Resort, with daily clinical work and equine therapy, plus a horse barn, pool and fitness studio right on the grounds. Plus, everything after that happens in Austin. Outpatient care of every kind, sober living and aftercare all run from their south Austin campus, so if you’re hoping to stay at home and come in for sessions, that care isn’t in Smithville.

On the money side, The Last Resort takes most major insurance plans in network and works out of network too, and they’ll set up a payment plan for whatever insurance leaves you paying.
