About Summer House Detox Center

Summer House Detox Center is an inpatient alcohol and drug rehab based in Miami, Florida. They specialize in providing medical detox services for adults experiencing addiction to alcohol, heroin, opiates, benzodiazepines, methadone, and Suboxone.

Get Through Withdrawal with Compassionate, Experienced Care

Detox is often the most intimidating phase of recovery. Going to a dedicated detox center like Summer House means you’ll be working with staff who know the ins and outs of the process.

Their warm and cozy facility creates a peaceful atmosphere that helps you feel calm. They’ve intentionally designed the space to be in stark contrast with the typical sterile, hospital-like detox centers.

Four Phase Detox Process

Summer House’s detox process uses four distinct phases. The idea is to steadily prepare your mind and body so that you can make the most of further treatment options, whether you attend a residential facility, outpatient program, or 12 step meetings.

Phase one focuses on getting your body stable using medication that reduces cravings. Phase two involves slowly tapering off that medication while enjoying the house’s amenities, like hydrotherapy and massage.

During phase three, you’ll receive medication that helps to reduce feelings of tiredness as you withdraw from substances. Phase four involves building a long-term plan for maintaining your sobriety.

Detox from Methadone and Suboxone

Methadone and Suboxone are two medications that can reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings throughout detox and longer in your recovery process. Medication assisted treatment or MAT can be a powerful tool in recovering from drug addiction.

But when used incorrectly, these medications can be highly addictive themselves. Attempting to self-wean can result in a host of unpleasant side effects similar to those experienced when detoxing from other substances.

Summer House is one of the few detox centers that can help you taper off of methadone and Suboxone in a safe and controlled manner. They use a gradual reduction detox method to keep the process as comfortable as possible.
