The core level is medication for opioid use disorder. Methadone and buprenorphine are the two medications, and both are FDA-approved. Psychiatric services add assessments and medication management. Telehealth is also offered, so some access does not require a trip in. Services run Monday through Saturday across seven locations. opioid addiction care here is built on those medications.

Individual counseling and group counseling are both offered, with care plans centered on the participant and peer support in the group. Harm reduction includes opioid overdose prevention training and supplies for safer sex and safer drug use. Medical services include assessment and treatment for hepatitis C and for HIV. addiction therapy options here include that counseling.

No one is denied services because they cannot pay. A discounted fee schedule, sometimes called a sliding fee, is based on family size and income. You can still get care when payment is a problem. The schedule is how the discount is set.

Clinic hours run Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm. Saturday hours are 7:00am to 12:00pm. Services are offered Monday through Saturday, and the organization has seven locations.

The organization started in 1969 as the Addiction Research and Treatment Corporation. It later became START Treatment and Recovery Centers, and the current name is StartCare. It began in one Brooklyn building and grew into a minority-led nonprofit community agency.
