About Southcentral Four Directions
Southcentral Four Directions is an outpatient addiction treatment program operated by Southcentral Foundation in Anchorage serving Alaska Native, American Indian and non-Native adults.
The program offers integrated substance use and behavioral health care for clients facing addiction, co-occurring disorders and trauma.
Rooted in an Alaska Native-led model, Four Directions blends clinical treatment with culturally grounded, whole-person wellness.
Outpatient Treatment Flexibility
Four Directions provides outpatient and intensive outpatient addiction services for adults and young adults navigating substance use challenges.
As part of Southcentral Foundation's broader behavioral health network, the program connects clients to detox referrals, medication support and ongoing recovery resources.
Treatment may include proven methods such as motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, contingency management, anger management and brief intervention.
Medication-assisted treatment with buprenorphine or naltrexone is available and the program has worked to reduce wait times and offer same-day access on most days for greater accessibility.
Culturally Grounded, Whole-Person Recovery
Operating within an Alaska Native-owned nonprofit healthcare system, Four Directions integrates culturally aligned support structures such as Learning Circles alongside more traditional care options.
The program also offers peer and mentoring support, housing services, discharge planning and transitional support to help clients sustain long-term recovery.
