About Southcentral Foundation Mt Ahklun Building
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) provides medical care and treatment services for mental health and substance use disorders to Alaskan Natives and other community members. The Mt. Ahklun Building is their administrative office in Anchorage, Alaska. The team here can connect you to a wide variety of treatment services such as outpatient care and medical detox.
The organization accepts Medicaid, Medicare, Indian Health Services and other insurance plans. There is also a sliding fee scale available. Some programs may be limited to Alaska Natives and American Indians or require Medicaid enrollment.
Residential and Outpatient Treatment in Anchorage
SCF has facilities for residential and outpatient treatment for substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. There is a medical detox facility that provides 24/7 support to adults and then connects them to an appropriate treatment program, which may be within the SCF network.
Parenting, pregnant and non parenting women have access to a residential addiction treatment facility that delivers individual and group therapy on topics such as parenting, emotional management, and domestic violence.
Children ages three and under can be admitted with their mother and stay in the facility during her treatment. Outpatient treatment incorporates counseling as well as medication assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate.
Helpful Case Management and Peer Support Services
Another important part of SCF’s support are the case management and peer support services. Case managers connect you with ongoing care, support groups and community resources that help you maintain recovery outside of treatment.
Peer support is also important. A peer has been through treatment and is in stable recovery now. Because they have faced challenges similar to yours, they can offer encouragement, advice and information about key resources you need.
