About Ryther
Ryther is a nonprofit behavioral health organization in Seattle providing therapeutic and intensive mental health and substance use services primarily for children, teens and young adults. The organization offers outpatient therapy and intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and community based support for youth with substance use disorders, anxiety and OCD, mood disorders and co-occurring conditions. Ryther delivers a continuum of care that meets young people where they are blending evidence based treatment with affirming, skill focused support tailored to each person's needs.
Youth Substance Use Treatment
Ryther's substance use disorder outpatient treatment program is designed for adolescents ages 10 to 18 facing substance use alongside mental health challenges like depression, anxiety or ADHD. Services include standardized assessments, urine toxicology and individual counseling, Seven Challenges groups and integrated mental health treatment delivered by credentialed clinicians and psychiatrists.
Treatment targets both substance use patterns and underlying mental health concerns through evidence based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and family therapy. Sessions equip teens with coping skills, relapse prevention strategies and tools to manage co-occurring symptoms, while family involvement supports lasting change at home and in the community.
Intensive Services
Ryther also offers intensive outpatient tracks for anxiety, OCD and emotional regulation, including DBT intensive outpatient programs. For neurodivergent youth ages 5 to 26, the organization provides affirming groups and camps using STEM projects and art, movement games and tabletop role playing to build social skills and connection in structured, interest based settings.
