About Mercy Medical Center
Mercy Medical Center is a hospital-based addiction and behavioral health facility in Springfield, Massachusetts offering integrated substance use support as part of a 182-bed acute care campus.
As a member of Trinity Health of New England, Mercy provides behavioral health assessments, crisis intervention, addiction consult services and outpatient behavioral health care, with referrals to higher levels of treatment as needed.
The hospital takes a multidisciplinary, personalized approach that connects medical care, behavioral health and community resources under one continuum.
Personalized Care Planning
Care often begins with an assessment through Mercy's Behavioral Health and Addiction Consult Services, where clinicians develop an individualized plan that may include stabilization, medical management or referral to detox and inpatient treatment.
Guests have a secure space to focus on the first recovery phase without the typical outside distractions that can hinder the treatment process.
From there, patients can engage in outpatient behavioral health support delivered within a primary care setting.
Dual Diagnosis Focus
Clients can expect collaborative counseling focused on goal setting, behavior change and relapse prevention, with approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and co-occurring disorder support.
Treatment may involve developing healthy coping skills, examining thinking and behavior patterns, recognizing substance use triggers and designing relapse prevention methods.
The care team includes social workers, psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, peer support and Community Health Workers.
