Peace River Center Bartow Crisis Campus in Bartow, Florida, is a short term crisis stabilization center. You can be assessed by phone, mobile response or by walking into the clinic.
The center has a free 24 hour crisis line which accepts calls and chats. A community mobile support team comes to clients in Polk, Hardee and Highland Counties when they are involved with law enforcement and need immediate referrals.
The center is certified by The Joint Commission and is recognized by the Florida Department of Children and Families, Florida Behavioral Health Association, Heartland for Children and MHCA. They accept Medicaid, military insurance, private health insurance and state welfare of child and family services funds. A sliding fee discount is available.
Crisis Criteria for Treatment
Emotional disturbances in children and adolescents, co-occurring and substance use disorders in adults and seniors, and first episode psychosis in adults and seniors are treated at the crisis center. Voluntary and involuntary admissions are made possible by the Florida’s Baker Act. Involuntary admission is made if the person has refused a voluntary examination, probably will suffer from neglect or refuse to care for oneself, or possibly may cause serious bodily harm to self or others.
Referral for Ongoing Addiction Treatment
Your stay will likely be less than four days. During your stay you will attend group counseling, receive medication management services, receive recovery education, and be referred for ongoing treatment. You will be referred for inpatient or outpatient substance use treatment based on your needs.
Renovated, Modern Facility
The center has recently been renovated with improved security, new flooring and additional space. A new recreation yard for children and a new security vestibule have been added.
