The coastline north of Los Angeles runs on to Malibu, where Passages Malibu has been a family run addiction treatment center in Malibu, California since 2001.

Which levels of care are offered?

Medical detox runs with staff attending around the clock, and residential treatment happens on campus.

Two day programs suit people who sleep at home: PHP (partial hospitalization) at 6 to 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, and IOP (intensive outpatient) at 3 to 4 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week.

This detox care schedule allows people to work around their work and life responsibilities while still getting care.

Passages assigns its own therapists and doctors to one-on-one work and counts 60 to 70 hours of it in a month.

Those hours let one therapist follow a person's own history closely.

Passages Malibu covers 10 acres above the Pacific, about 32 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
